Beck David Hansen

Beck is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer, widely known for his eclectic style and constant reinvention across musical genres. Born in Los Angeles, California, Beck grew up in a creative family—his mother, Bibbe Hansen, was part of Andy Warhol’s art scene, and his father, David Campbell, is a renowned arranger and composer. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Beck began performing in coffeehouses and clubs in Los Angeles, blending folk, blues, and experimental sounds. His breakthrough came in 1994 with the surprise hit “Loser,” a song that captured the slacker generation’s mood and made him an instant star. That success led to a major-label deal and a series of influential albums.
